Aeromedical (Air Ambulance) Services

In 1977 Voyageur helped usher in the modern era of air ambulance when it helped institute a new method of long distance transfer for medical patients in Ontario, Canada, utilizing aircraft instead of land vehicles.  Since this time our Aeromedical division has grown to be a mainstay of the Company's business. 

Voyageur is the fixed wing provider of dedicated Air Ambulance services for the Canadian provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick.  The majority of our bases are operated with pilots and paramedics on-site 24-hours-a-day. Most calls are of a high priority, time-sensitive nature and require the utmost in critical care experience by all personnel involved.

Voyageur has also created a one-of-a-kind air ambulance aircraft to respond to the need to transport multiple patients on one aircraft.  The result is a de Havilland Dash 7 aircraft with the capability to carry up to eight stretcher patients.  This multi patient air ambulance gives Voyageur the flexibility to assist with medical evacuations in times of natural disaster or provide routine air ambulance service when it is more cost effective to move a large number of patients at once.
